چکیده
Abstract Medical interventions are often guided by optical tracking systems and coherence tomography has shown promising results for markerless of soft tissue. The high spatial resolution subsurface information contain valuable about the underlying tissue structure certain target structures is in principle possible. However, small field-of-view complicates selection suitable regions-of-interest tracking. Therefore, we extend an experimental setup perform volumetric surface scanning to enlarge field-of-view. We show that allows data acquisition precise merging volumes possible with mean absolute errors from 0.041mm 0.097mm.

High - Speed Path Length Scanning for Optical Coherence Tomography
Current optical coherence tomography (OCT) imaging technology allows acquisition of micronscale images of tissue microstructure at rates of several frames per second over cross-sectional areas of a few square millimeters. These rates and ranges are limited by the mechanical scanning mechanism of the galvonometers currently employed in optical delay lines. New developments in OCT technology requ...
متن کاملTwo-axis magnetically-driven MEMS scanning catheter for endoscopic high-speed optical coherence tomography.
A two-axis scanning catheter was developed for 3D endoscopic imaging with spectral domain optical coherence tomography (SD-OCT). The catheter incorporates a micro-mirror scanner implemented with microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) technology: the micro-mirror is mounted on a two-axis gimbal comprised of folded flexure hinges and is actuated by magnetic field. The scanner can run either static...
متن کاملHigh Speed Data Acquisition System for Optical Coherence Tomography
Data acquisition systems currently utilized for optical coherence tomography (OCT) imaging have limited data acquisition rates that hinder high speed systems such as the clinical OCT system. Recently, advances in OCT technology have enabled the imaging of the tissue functional state in addition to the imaging of tissue microstructure. These functional imaging techniques such as Doppler OCT and ...
متن کاملMEMS scanning micromirror for optical coherence tomography.
This paper describes an endoscopic-inspired imaging system employing a micro-electromechanical system (MEMS) micromirror scanner to achieve beam scanning for optical coherence tomography (OCT) imaging. Miniaturization of a scanning mirror using MEMS technology can allow a fully functional imaging probe to be contained in a package sufficiently small for utilization in a working channel of a sta...
متن کاملHand scanning optical coherence tomography imaging using encoder feedback.
We present a new method for generating micron-scale OCT images of interstitial tissue with a hand scanning probe and a linear optical encoder that senses probe movement relative to a fixed reference point, i.e., tissue surface. Based on this approach, we demonstrate high resolution optical imaging of biological tissues through a very long biopsy needle. Minor artifacts caused by tissue noncompl...
